7 Habits of Effective Men

I found this article totally awesome so I thought to share it. Its not one of mine it was on Charisma Magazine and I am not sure who authored it but its good for you.  When I think of a man who fits the title of effective I think of Dr. Myles Munroe. Have known him personally I observed his conduct as a leader and his love for his wife and kids and his love for people from ALL walks of life I was awed. These things are simple yet so profound and yet I find so few people that live this and sometimes I have to check myself. Enjoy this article

Effective men do daily what average men do occasionally.
I enjoy reading biographies of great men. Doing so gives me insight into some of the brightest, most creative and successful men who have lived. Some of these men lived long ago, yet their life stories become lessons applicable for today. Other men are still living and willingly giving us the secrets to their achievements.
Not only do we see their genius on display, but we often learn how the traumas of their youth motivated them. These men often share their failures in business and finance, even marriage and family, and provide key insights into overcoming setbacks.
You can gain wisdom through a mentor or through pain.
I suggest you choose mentors. Through the mentorship these biographies of great men have afforded me, I have discovered seven habits of effective men:
1. Effective men steward their time. Most effective men start their work at the same time each day. Most have a reflexive system of managing their routine. For example, Nick Saban, the very effective football coach, has mastered the proficient use of his time. Read this article to see what I mean.
2. Effective men are constant learners. The greatest habit I ever developed in my life is reading one chapter of Proverbs each day. I learned this from the very effective Zig Ziglar. He valued it so much that he created an audio version for us. (Available here.)
3. Effective men speak positively. The science of positive attitudes and speech confirms it has incredible results on our health, wealth and longevity. Yet some men haven’t mastered this simple trait. I struggled with a speech impediment as a child, so speaking is very important to me. Words matter, and for me to be effective I must give careful consideration to what I am saying and how I say it. Interestingly, Jesus actually is a great example of this when He said, “These words you hear are not my own; they belong to the Father who sent me.”
4. Effective men focus on details. Small things matter, and small things overlooked are often the destroyer of greater things. Focusing on the details makes all the difference. I have known very gifted men who were sloppy in the details. Their success was constantly undermined by their lack of attention to detail. You cannot expect an excellent life with 80 percent effort.
5. Effective men pray. The greatest habit of a man is to embrace the isolation of prayer. God relates to men in the daily commute. As you’re going to work, pray about the challenges that you are facing—the finances, the sales, your productivity. As you leave work, pray about your home, for your wife and over your children. I am going to quote an unlikely source for this point: “I’m a busy guy, but I set aside quiet time every morning and every evening to keep my equilibrium centered on my own path” (Donald Trump).
6. Effective men exercise. The physical body is a machine—a remarkable machine—that houses who we are. We must invest in it. We must care for it. It won’t last forever, but it is vital for now. I continue to resist the effects that travel and a busy schedule have on my body. I want to be in the best physical health I can be in my 50s. Yes, it is hard, but if I am going to accomplish my purpose in life, I need to be strong for another 30 years.
7. Effective men rest. God established it, even commanded it. It is as vital for your effectiveness as breathing—it is called rest. Fatigue is the greatest threat to your future. When you are tired, you let your guard down in decision-making. When you are tired, you are not focused on details, you do not control your words and may say things you will regret. When you are tired, you are not creative. When you are tired, you are vulnerable to a spiritual attack. Never make a permanent decision when you are tired.
So how about it, men? What are some of the best lessons you’ve learned? What effective habits have you noticed in other successful men? What effective habits do you need to work on?

Share these principles with a brother and encourage them and guess what you become a Success Coach

Africa hear the Word of the Lord

Chapter Ten

In this chapter, I want to close by sharing with you a word from the Lord that I believe will encourage you and help you see Africa from God’s perspective. It is a Word that will provoke us to look at and review some of the things that have happened to Africa and some habits that we have adopted that are limiting our progress.

A Word for Africa

As I draw to a conclusion of this timely publication, I want to share with you a word of prophecy that God shared with me. This word serves to be an encouragement to all that will choose to take a step into their destiny and assignment and make a contribution to mankind in a great way

Thus says the Lord. The next great work of my Sprit is being birthed in Africa; there will be such a sowing of my Word that will cause many to arise and do great exploits. I have and I will call many to my ministry to serve me and cause my purpose to be established. Some will be called into ministry to preach, to teach, and to inspire change and transformation, and others will be called into business to create wealth and bring resources for the work that will be done; they will walk in such dimension of wealth creation as has not been seen heretofore. For they will within a short space of time do that which it took others many years to do. And yet others I will call to leadership in different platforms where they will speak and their voice will be heard far and wide. Political leaders and community leaders that shall stand and be my voice and my instruments for change. They will speak at various levels of influence and authority.

Let faith arise in the hearts of my people, and as they stand to declare my word and do my word, I will show myself strong on their behalf.

Across the continent, there will be a loud cry to say the season of change has come, and those that I have been preparing in the wilderness will know that it is the time of their showing forth and they will arise as an army prepared for the work. There will be great inventions that will be birthed that will so bless humanity and cause many to know me and to serve me. How I have longed for this time and season as I have loved my people with an everlasting love, and in this season, I will manifest my glory and goodness in ways beyond imagination. Let faith arise in the hearts of my people, and as they stand to declare my word and do my word, I will show myself strong on their behalf.

The enemy has not been silent, but he has gone about as a roaring lion and spoken many words that have caused fear to arise in the hearts of the people. I am looking for faith, but he has sown the seed of fear that has caused heart to lose courage, as did the spies in my word. A nation on the verge of a great miracle was moved to fear when evil words were spoken. I will in this time so anoint my servant that will hear and obey me to speak with courage, boldness, and authority so that the words sown by the evil one will be reversed and faith will arise and its enemies will be scattered. There are some that have taken it upon themselves to sow seeds of fear among my people and have caused men’s hearts to lose courage and to walk in fear. They have taught words that do not come from me and caused hearts to lose courage. But I have also called some that will speak my word and silence the voices of the enemy and strengthen my people to do the work.

There will be transfers of wealth that will happen in the nations of Africa as I move wealth into the hands of my servant to do the work that is ahead. Storehouses of wealth are yet to be discovered that will cause the hearts of many to be moved with greed. Minerals that have lay hidden will be discovered, and there will be a rising up of those in power to contain that which I will do but this will not stop that which I will do. There will be a sound in the land – a sound of praise, a sound of celebration, a sound of great joy. The harvest will come in and many shall be blessed and be glad. In city after city, there will be great joy. I will move by spirit and touch and heal and deliver many.

There will be a sound in the land – a sound of praise, a sound of celebration, a sound of great joy.
Amen. Let it be so.

You are the limit!!!

You are the limit!!!

Here is an article that blessed me so much I had to share it. As a Pastor and Success Coach I have come to learn that most people limit themselves and do not enjoy the fullness of what God has for them. I remember some years ago walking into a restaurant as a guest to one of my friends. As I sat down the waiter placed a napkin on my lap and I was thinking wow… ok!!! Then I was asked what would you have to drink sir. I would have said water had I known that that each drink was R45. I then looked at the menu and saw that the starter was R110 minimum. By this time my mind was racing what will my host order? Does he know the prices on the menu? Should I say I lost my appetite? Do I deserve to eat such “expensive food?”

Now I know you have never been there and you are laughing at me, it was a great learning experience for me. Well now I don’t even look at the cost of the food if I am invited I just order what I want as long as I can read those strange words on the menu. But anyway here is the lesson I was ordering based on what I thought the host could pay and based on what I thought I deserved. When I read this article by my friend Darlington Steve it rang a bell in me and I said to him I would blog this article; keep reading.

The three most important assets to make man succeed are 1. Believing in God. 2. Believing in oneself. 3. Believing in the ability God has deposited in you. Mastering this, the world will not play with the grace on the inside of you.

Wow interesting how many of us pray prayers that measure Gods ability to meet your need? We often think through first and we pray “order from the menu” based on what we think of the host and what we feel we deserve. Expensive is relative, I decided to take that word out of my vocabulary and rather say I don’t want something because saying its expensive takes me out of the playing field.

You are the limit to what God can do in your life; Gideon was faced with an interesting challenge when God called him to deliver a nation from bondage. I often say when God said to him “hey mighty man of velour” (rephrased) Gideon like most of us looked around him then turned to God and said excuse me God are you talking to me? Our self-doubts cause us to undermine Gods ability to do great things though us. Like TD Jakes says “its dangerous when you put big on small”. Wow how many times has God attempted to do great things though us and we look around thinking there is a better candidate. Well I got news for you He wants to use you so you might as well get your head on right believe in God and believe in what He has placed inside you.

Like Gideon let God show you what He can do and His amazing track record to use “nobodies” to do something, the bible is full of it. So start believing in yourself today and rise up and do great things for the Kingdom of God. For more on this please get my book and read about how “Even you can succeed”. Remember He made you Himself and He knows what you can do its time to believe in God

Creator or Worker?

The thought of starting your own small business can be a little scary, if not downright intimidating.  Still, there are many great reasons for you to give it a go. It is “easier” than it ever has been to start and run a business. Whether you are bootstrapping your business or you have venture capital, it is now arguably riskier to depend on your job. If the past few years have taught us anything, it is that what we thought was secure isn’t really secure and what we thought was right is left.
At CEO Blog Nation, we released the “I am CEO” Battlecry for entrepreneurs and business owners and released the first volume of ourfree eBook called the “I am CEO Handbook: Volume 1″ that provide resources and information for entrepreneurs, startups and business owners to celebrate entrepreneurship and the impact that it has on the world. Entrepreneurs are vital and transform our world that we live whether it be the iPhone, Amazon.com or even your local hair stylist. There’s always the age old chicken and the egg question about whether entrepreneurs are born or made, but the bottom line is that entrepreneurs are those who develop innovation after innovation to improve our world. The ability to take “nothing” and build it into a business that helps employ thousands and generate millions in revenue should be celebrated and that’s what we’re doing.
Entrepreneurship is alive and well and here are 16 reasons why you should consider taking the plunge too.
1.     Most industries and businesses are changing.  Now is a great time to find opportunities in the chaos and destruction of changing industries. Provide a product or service that will enable you to earn a living despite while others struggle.
2.     To pursue your passion.  Part of the goal in starting your own business is to actually make a living doing what you love.
3.     You are able to reinvent the world.  In some ways, you may be redefining your personal perspective on “going to work.”  In other ways, you may be able to help improve the lives of those who purchase your goods or services.
4.     You will be your own boss (kind of).  You may not see eye to eye with your boss, but you can’t fire him or her. As an entrepreneur you will work for your clients, but you have the ability to replace and fire difficult clients. Owning your own business will enable you to experience being in control of your own workday.
5.     There is no ceiling on your professional potential.  When you own your own business, your creativity and skill growth can evolve and be used as you need them to for the success of your company.
6.     There is no cap on your earning potential.  You will be able to make changes and innovate as the market demands.  You will not have to ask for the approval of your “boss” in order to make the changes needed to ensure sales.
7.     You are the captain of the ship.  All of the responsibility falls upon your shoulders, but with that you have the freedom to steer your small business in whichever direction you see fit. You can even start your business part-time.
8.     You enjoy having multiple roles in business.  If you excel at multitasking, then being an entrepreneur is definitely a way to use those skills for the benefit of your own business.
9.     You have the opportunity to do meaningful work.  As your own boss, you will have a chance to do work that means something to you, and perhaps to those who benefit from your goods or services.
10.  You see a business opportunity.  Owning your own business allows you to stop wishing for a product or service to better suit your needs, and start providing one for you and others.
11.  Security. Business is changing. Fast. No business has the same security level as it did before the economic downturn.  Don’t let the usual fear of lack of security hold you back as it may have done in more economically secure times.
12.  You can start part-time. Some of the most successful entrepreneurs juggled multiple positions and opportunities before they took the plunge.
13.  You may want to prove to yourself that you could do it.  Being a small business owner is not an easy task, but succeeding at it may help you do what you always hoped you could.
14.  It is the only way to achieve your dream.  If you have certain aspirations in life, sometimes the only way to reach them is to be an entrepreneur.
15.  You were laid off from your job.  From your job you might have skills and an expertise that you can leverage into a business venture. If you don’t have a job, but still have a mortgage, student loans or credit card bills, you will have to start a business.
16.  You are a risk taker.  There is a certain amount of risk in owning a business, but if you can handle taking risks and the pressure it takes to run a business than you should take the leap.
17.  Bonus Reason: If you’ve ever torn your Achilles or had any other injuries, you’ll have some extra time on your hands.

Running a business is not easy and it takes a lot of time, dedication and energy, but so do a lot of jobs. Do your research and homework and determine if it is truly something that you are able and willing to invest in. Times are changing and so much business and our minds. Consider taking the plunge and live the dream.
